The contents of a large metal welding shop at 1706 North 2nd Street were considered a total loss in a fire that was reported just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
“There was nothing salvageable inside the building,” Firefighter Levi Roberts told the Press-Reporter. “I don’t know if there was any structural damage to the building itself, but it will have to be re-skinned with new metal.”
Jamie Garcia was listed as owner of the building.
Garcia suffered some burns to the back of his hands and face, Roberts said, and initially was treated at the scene by Medical Arts Hospital EMS.
