A Lamesa High School student reportedly had a gun in his vehicle on campus last Friday afternoon, but school officials do not believe any students were in danger. “The District’s investigation into the matter determined that the student did not intend to bring the firearm into the school building,” Lamesa ISD Superintendent Jim Knight said in a press release issued on Tuesday. “Initial reports indicate that the student neglected to remove the weapon following a hunting activity the evening before,” Knight said. “It is the District’s belief that at no time were any Lamesa ISD students in any danger of harm as ...
