The purchase of a new road grading machine and a vote in opposition to heavier load limits for trucks were among the items approved by members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court during their regular meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Following the regular road maintenance report presented by County Road Supervisor Stanley Gass, the court agreed to lease-purchase a new Caterpillar road grader from Warren Cat, which has operations in both Lubbock and Odessa.
The 2019 grader will cost some $288,797, with about $90,000 allowed for the trade in of a 2009 grader currently owned by the county.
