A five-year plan to replace tasers currently used by officers with the Lamesa Police Department was approved on Tuesday night by the Lamesa City Council. Although that original proposal called for paying out the plan with annual payments over the five-year period, council members indicated by consensus that they prefer to go ahead and pay the full amount up front out of the city’s existing fund balance.
