A residential fire on Tuesday afternoon that appeared to be suspicious in its origin is under investigation as possible arson.
Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck said an investigator with the State Fire Marshal’s Office was scheduled to be working at the scene on Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday for a residence at 1505 North 10th Street. Lamesa Fire Rescue and officers with the Lamesa Police Department all responded.
Upon their arrival officers and firefighters reported smoke coming from the back of the residence.
