Lamesa City Council member Marie Briseño was recognized at Tuesday’s council meeting by Mayor Josh Stevens with the presentation of an Award of Excellence from the Texas Municipal League Institute (TMLI). That award was presented to Briseño in recognition of her 20th consecutive year of commitment to continuing education. Only seven Awards of Excellence were earned statewide. The recognition is awarded to individuals who received a TMLI continuing education certificate for five, 10, 15 or 20 consecutive years.
