Organizers of the 26th annual “Back-to-School Giveaway” recently sent out letters to area churches and businesses seeking cash donations and volunteers to help with the distribution of new clothing and school supplies to area students.Each year, members of area churches distribute free items to students enrolled in Lamesa and surrounding school districts before the start of the new academic year.The giveaway is being held from 8 a.m. until noon, Aug. 3 at the First Methodist Church at 409 N. 3rd Street.Lamesa and O’Donnell students begin the 20242025 academic year Aug. 13.
