What a difference a couple of years can make in the school business.
Just a couple of years ago a sharp drop in enrollment had people wondering how long the Dawson school system at Welch would be able to keep its doors open.
But after nearly doubling its enrollment since then, the school appears to be on the rise under Superintendent Layne Sheets.
“We’ve been getting good support from our community as well as from our board which is making this a really good place to be,” Sheets said.
“We feel blessed to be here.”
