The Lamesa High School Golden Tors Band went, saw and conquered at the West Texas Auxiliary Championships over the past weekend at Lubbock Coronado.The high school’s percussion section, color guard members and the head drum major participated in the competition.“We are proud of the progress our students have made,” said LHS Band Director Sonia Carrion. “This means we will have more success for our program when we begin contests in October.”The head drum major, Evelisa Vasquez, marched away with a superior rating, the highest a band member can earn, for her conducting performance.Color Guard took first place in 3A color ...
