The municipal swimming pool at the N. 22nd Street Park is now closed for the summer.
The pool closed in late June after an expensive water pump failed. The $14,000 pump had only been installed a few weeks before it burned out.
“It (the pool) was only opened for a week and a half or two weeks,” said Wayne Chapman, the city’s finance director and interim city manager. “It might not have been that long.”
City officials ordered a pump replacement, but delivery issues caused by COVID-19 delayed receipt and possible installation of the pump.
