The 21st annual community-wide Back-to-School Giveaway will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. until 12 noon, at First United Methodist Church in Lamesa. An estimated 500 students will receive a bag of school supplies and a set of new clothing, as well as some gently used clothing and a bag of hygiene supplies. The new clothes will include a shirt, jeans, underwear, and socks. All school-age children must be accompanied by a grown-up for the giveaway. There will be no exceptions to that rule.
