It was a tough season in the win-loss column for the Dawson Dragons as they got their high school boys basketball program going again.
O’Donnell’s basketball girls tuned up for their return to the Class 1A state hoop playoffs in a big way Thursday evening at Ackerly by gunning down Grandfalls-Royalty, 50-38.
TAHOKA – The reality of violence in today’s world has prompted some churches to be pro-active, to begin actively seeking training to help with securing the safety of citizens. The Lynn County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating with local churches to offer such training.
Howard College in Lamesa will be offering Workplace English classes for $100 every Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Second-grade classes at South Elementary taught by Kerri Barrera, Jamie Proctor, Ashley McCullough and Rebecca Mince handed out Valentines cards to the residents of Bee-hive Homes on Thursday. The activity was part of a lesson in kindness which helped students reach 100 acts of kindness for the 100th day of school.
First Presbyterian will be offering a service of worship to the community on Ash Wednesday. Worship will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the church sanctuary.
