With many of the normal senior-year activities cancelled this spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Class of 2020 were feted Friday to a parade hosted by the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce. Riding in decorated automobiles, trailers and even a semi-truck, the seniors waved and threw candy to family members, friends and well- wishers who lined the streets between Forrest Park and the downtown square. Open to graduating seniors from Lamesa and the surrounding area, the parade was one of the largest seen here in a number of years.

We were scheduled to spend 12 hours in a layover in London where I had hoped to sight see for 8 hours. Instead we spent 12 hours in the international section of Heathrow reading the labels on chocolates, perfumes and liquor at the duty-free shops and attempting to sleep on the floor in eternal fluorescent sunshine.
All of a sudden, there are painted rocks along my path.
