Dawson County Hospital District (DCHD) board members got a peek Tuesday on three possibilities of what a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) headquarters could look like.
Dawson County’s 4-H program will be having an enrollment party on Aug. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. All potential new and existing members are welcome to attend and get registered for the 2021- 2022 year.
Although Texas leads the nation in child heatstroke deaths, the state did go nearly 7 months into 2021 without a child dying from heatstroke in a vehicle. Sadly, that changed on July 16 when a 3-year-old child was found unresponsive in a vehicle in Tyler, becoming the first heatstroke death of the year in Texas and the ninth child heatstroke death for the nation in 2021. These deaths are totally preventable.
The number of Texans hospitalized with lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases is increasing faster than at any other point since the pandemic began in early 2020, due to the highly contagious delta variant.
Besides reviewing the proposed 2021-2022 budget and tax rate, Lamesa school board members will also be looking at a closed-campus rule for 9th-11th graders during the lunch period.
Lack of a quorum forced the cancellation of a joint meeting which had been planned on Monday for the directors of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and the Lamesa Economic Alliance Project.
