Howard College Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) students and their instructor celebrate the end of their classroom experience Wednesday. Irene Ubeda, Crystal Alvarez; teacher Bel Rodriguez, Jaleigh Gonzales, Ashley DeLosSantos and Debbie Gonzales recognized the end of weeks of classroom instruction before beginning 40 hours of clinical work in a Big Spring Center for Skilled Care in Big Spring. CNAs are required to do 100 hours of lectures and clinical work before graduating from the four-week program. The college’s next CNA class is scheduled for August or September. Students spend eight hours two or three days a week in the CNA program.

Have you ever known someone who took pride in saying something like, “My body. My choice. I am going to live however I choose?” They are right! Every person does have the human right to live and do with their bodies, whatever they want. However, it is also true, that though a person has the freedom to choose, they do not have the freedom to decide the consequences of their choices.
