Growing up, many of Joseph Hood’s high school football memories came from playing the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes.

The Dawson County Public Library is giving away curated bundles of books every Tuesday and Thursday. The bundles are put together by request, with the age and favorite authors in mind. Sean Overeynder had the word interim removed from his title Tuesday evening as the Lamesa City Council voted 5-2 to name him the new city manager.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, city employees are working daily to disinfect all playgrounds, picnic tables and other facilities in all city parks. After using a pump-sprayer to spray disinfectant on the playground at the Skate Park at South 1st St. and Akron Ave., Rigo Iglesias uses a power washer Wednesday morning to rinse the equipment.
With the addition of one more case announced Monday afternoon, Dawson County officially has had 14 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus.
