A new plan to guide the Mesa Underground Water Conservation District in managing groundwater here for the next five years was approved this past Wednesday by the district’s board of directors.
The plan is required by the state and will be sent to the Texas Water Development Board, which already has reviewed it and given its preliminary approval of the plan.
Included in the 37-page document is a wide variety of information on topics ranging from estimated groundwater usage and recharge to water supply needs and drought contingency plans.
