Lamesa school facilities seeing many improvements
If you are an employee of LISD, a student or a parent, you see lots of changes at Lamesa ISD, whether it is new construction, remodeling, new equipment, along with lots of changes inside the school buildings. If you are a community member without children enrolled in our school you are probably seeing some of the same things, but may not really know what all is going on inside our buildings. I want to take this opportunity to educate on those items as much as I can.

In light of the events in Uvalde and the questions the district has received regarding the status of Lamesa ISD school security, I felt this would be a good time to go over the security enhancements that have been implemented in the district since the passage of the bond in May of 2018. I have listed the major additions and enhancements to further harden and secure each campus. This is not a comprehensive list, but it does outline how much attention the district has given to school security and the protection of our students and staff.

Spending so much time in our workplace lends itself to eating, cooking, and storing food in that workplace, so let’s take a look at the cornerstone of food safety in the lunchroom and the home kitchen, the refrigerator.

Gov. Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Education Agency to ensure school facilities are made safer in the wake of the killing of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde.
