Game parks are a worldwide phenomena within the last 50 years or so. South Africa has many, Kruger being the most famous. Tanzania has Ngorogoro Crater and Mount Kilimanjaro. Kenya has the Seregeti Plains, Zambia has the South Luanga, and so the lists go on.
Malawi had the best of intentions to create these parks and did set aside land but failed to adequately provide for protection of the animals from poachers, deforestation by the villagers, and lack of infrastructure (like decent roads) and lodges for tourists.
