The Red Cross is assisting a woman who lost all of her belongings Friday afternoon in a blaze that destroyed the recreational vehicle (RV) she was living in.
“She did lose everything,” Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck said Friday evening.
Fanned by west winds gusting around 23-24 miles per hour at the time, the fire was reported around 2:15 p.m. at a location about eight miles south of Lamesa on the west side of Highway 137.
The RV was fully engulfed when Lamesa firefighters arrived, with flames also jumping to a nearby livestock trailer.
