Wanda Moreen Butchee

    Graveside services for Wanda Moreen Butchee, 94, of Lamesa will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Hancock Cemetery with Pastor Keith Clower officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa, Texas. 
    Wanda Moreen Butchee, 94, of Lamesa, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in Lubbock surrounded by her family.     
    She was born on June 1, 1929, in San Angelo, Texas to Moore Gray and Bernetti Leona (Perry) Gray. She married Donald Edward Butchee in Las Vegas, NV, on February 27, 1954.  They were married 56 years. 
    Wanda was a member of Crestview Baptist Church for over 30 years.
    She loved spending time with her family, arrowhead hunting, and painting. She was well known for her hospitality.  She served as an Eastern Star during the 1980’s. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Donald Gray and Alma Jean Shaw.
    Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lori Maples and husband, Grady of Lubbock, and Robert Butchee and wife, Lavenda of Lamesa, five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol McAdams and husband, Stephen of Lamesa and Naomi Bunch and husband, Larry of Arizona; and brother, Nathan Gray and wife, Elaine of Odessa.
