Lamesa Men’s Basketball League (August 13 scores) Marathon OG’s-94, Spurs-53. Jaime Puente scored the nets dropping 58 points to lead Marathon OG’s. Isaiah Martinez Sr. had 12 for the Spurs.
The crowd at Lamesa High School stadium were treated to a JV and Varsity scrimmage as well as a burger feed hosted by the booster club. Cheerleaders, the Golden Tornado mascot and band kept the crowd entertained as well as the play on the field. All fall athletes were highlighted as sports season has begun. Photos by Joe Warren
If the Golden Tornadoes’ football team can continue making the same strides that it did in their first two weeks of the preseason, then there’s no doubt that they could exceed their low preseason billing.
