Going into the final week of district play, the Golden Tornado football team’s magic number was one.
The Golden Tors’ eighth grade football team finished its season on a high note with a 28-7 victory at Brownfield.

After falling just short last week in their bid to knock off Division I District 1-4A kingpin Borden County, the O’Donnell Eagles came into this week knowing they needed a win Friday night at Meadow to reach the sixman football playoffs for the third year in a row.
The starting time for Friday night’s six-man football showdown at Klondike was pushed back 30 minutes later than normal in order to give the Sands Mustangs ample time to get back from Friday morning’s Class 1A state cross country meet at Round Rock.
