Golden Tornado girls get 2nd win over Pecos

Lamesa’s varsity girls basketball team captured its second win of the year over Pecos on Tuesday. After beating Pecos 38-25 to open the season last week, the Golden Tornadoes captured a 39-31 victory this week in Pecos. Lamesa led 13-9 after the fi rst quarter and 19-14 at the half. After getting outscored 10-7 in the third period, the Golden Tornadoes outscored Pecos 13-7 in the fi nal quarter. “From the start we played lazy because we knew we had beaten them before,” Lamesa coach Shai Young said after the game. “We were able to come in at halftime with a little lead. In the fourth quarter we decided to push the pedal down and come back to win.”
