Members of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and the Lamesa Economic Alliance Project are holding a special meeting today at 4 p.m. in the president’s room in the chamber of commerce building at 123 Main Ave.
As Lamesa ISD embarks on the third year of its Social Emotional Support (SES) Department, the district continues its mission to eliminate barriers that hinder students from reaching their full academic potential. The SES Department is dedicated to addressing and alleviating social and emotional challenges that may impact student performance. With a social emotional support specialist stationed at each campus, the district provides vital resources for students facing a range of issues, from academic struggles to family and situational difficulties.
Drought conditions across the state dropped a percentage point in May compared to the previous month, with 26% of the state in some stage of drought, primarily in West and South Texas and parts of the Panhandle.

After enjoying another banner season on the high school softball diamond, the Borden County Coyotes are well represented on the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Class 1A All-State Softball Team.
