Wilbur Albert Heins

    Memorial service for Wilbur Albert Heins,93, of Lamesa, will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Alan Korinek officiating, under the care and direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Wilbur passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Lamesa, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 2, 1930 in Platte Center, Nebraska to William H. and Helena (Muth) Heins. He was baptized as a child of God on June 15, 1930 and confirmed in his Christian faith in 1944. He attended Platte Center Public School & High School, Platte Center, NE. He later received his degree in Diesel Engine Repair at Utilities Engineering Institute, Chicago, IL.
He married Evelyn Borchers, August 10, 1952 at Grace Lutheran Church, Platte Center, NE. He farmed until 1963 in Platte Center, NE, from 1965-1975 he worked as a John Deere Technician in Nebraska, and from 1975-1983 as a John Deere Technician in Lamesa, he then worked as a Case IH Service Manager in Lamesa from 1983 to his retirement.
    Wilbur loved to make things run and as a hobby worked on small engines, garden equipment, and antique tractors.
    Wilbur was a Christian and worshipped his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Grace Lutheran Church, Lamesa, Texas. He sang in the choir, led bible classes, served on various boards, was an elder of the church for many years, and a member of the Gideons.
    He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Heins; son, Dwight Heins and wife Debbie of Lamesa, Tx. and their children, Andria Neal of Lubbock, Stacy McGee, and Jason McGee both of Lamesa; daughter, Kristi and husband David Zeck and their daughters Josi & Maggi of Australia; and daughter, Karla Heins of Lamesa, Tx. and her sons Anthony Todd of Lamesa, Michael & James Todd of Lubbock, Tx., and Fredrick Heins of Lubbock, Tx.; sister, Linda Nissen of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
    Wilbur was preceded in death by parents, William & Helena Heins; brothers, Elmer and Roland Heins; and sisters, Annetta Jahoness, Ruth Siebler, Dolores Jones, Agnes Wozny and Verla Siebler.
    The family suggests memorials be sent to the Grace Lutheran Church, 1002 N. 11th St., Lamesa, Texas 79331.
