Vonna Turney

    Funeral service for Vonna Diane Turney, 64, of Lamesa, will be held Friday, August 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Temple Church with Pastor Jerry Walton officiating. 
    Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Vonna passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in Lamesa. 
    She was born October 27, 1957, in Lamesa, TX to Coleman and Glenda Joyce (Norris) Baker.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raider fan.  She loved working on her yard, board games and spending time with her children.
    Vonna is survived by her children, Monica Solis and husband, John of Lamesa, Jamie Turney and wife, Candy of Sachse, and Christopher Turney of Lamesa; mother, Joyce Swaim of Lamesa; sister, Jataun Rodrigues of Lamesa; brothers, Douglas Baker of Lamesa and Coleman Baker Jr. of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. 
    Vonna was preceded in death by her father, and granddaughter, Destini Turney.  
    Honoring her as pallbearers are Nick Turney, Dallas Turney, Devin Turney, Zander Dimas, Brandon James and Tony Rodrigues.
