Sissie Hobson

Graveside services for Ophelia Wynelle “Sissie” Hobson, 90, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Rush Coffman officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Sissie passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, in Levelland, TX.
She was born December 19, 1932, in Haskell, TX to Lawrence and Oneta (Floyd) Robinson. She married William “Dub” Hobson July 11, 1950.
She wore many hats in her life from a cashier at Piggly Wiggly, to a homemaker, a secretary at a plumbing shop, and behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler with the love of her life next to her. She was an accomplished seamstress making clothes for her kids, grandkids and even prom dresses.
Dub and Sissie were often found drinking coffee with friends at Allen’s Galley.  Sissie loved making large holiday meals for her family. She baked the best Buttermilk pie and had a homemade biscuit recipe that is not easily replicated. Known to all the grandkids as “Nan”, she will be deeply missed.
Sissie is survived by her son Weldon (Cleta) Hobson of Lubbock, and daughter Beverly (Russ) Pinkerton of Levelland; sisters Jeannie Holland of Georgetown, and Jo (Robert) Barron of Odessa; sisters-in-law Helen Hobson and Katherine Welch, both of Lamesa; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and good friends and neighbors Tillie and Jesse Granado.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Dub in 2006; daughter Darnella Smith in 2013; son-in-law Kent Smith in 2005; and brothers Howard Robinson, Wesley Robinson and Leslie Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hobson, Clint Cooley, Dusty Smith, Kevin Pinkerton, Kyle Pinkerton, Wayne Smith and Billy Godsey.
