Sennie Rhoades
Funeral service for Sennie Jane Rhoades, 78, of Lamesa will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church with John SoRelle officiating. Burial will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Sennie passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, in Lamesa, Texas.
She was born August 20, 1943, in Lamesa, Texas at General Hospital to Jack and Nadine (Drennan) Reid. She attended West Texas University for a couple of years. She then married, Leon Rhoades in June of 1965.
Sennie and her husband owned a bed and bath Ski Resort in Red River, New Mexico from 1965-1969. She then worked for Hughes Fertilizer prior to King Mesa Gin, where she worked 36 years as an office manager.
Sennie served as in elder at First Presbyterian Church. She loved the Lord and read her Bible every morning. She enjoyed playing golf with her best friends for many decades. Hobbs, Wendover, and Las Vegas were her getaway spots. She loved all her farmers, family, and friends dearly. She greatly loved spending time with her grandchildren and close friends. She will deeply be missed by her family and friends.
Sennie is survived by her son, Ricky Rhoades of Welch; stepdaughter, Rhonda Leann Rhoades, M.D. of Kerrville; sister, Kay Witcher and husband, Norman of Odessa; brothers, Jim Reid and wife, Linda of Texarkana, and Larry Reid of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Kelsie Rhoades Kilgore of Lubbock and Randy Rhoades and wife, Megan of Lamesa; and six great grandchildren, Collin Kilgore, Emma Kilgore, Thomas Kilgore, Ally Rhoades, Brinley Rhoades and Brooks Rhoades.
Sennie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; nephew Tracey Gore; sister-in-law, Desiree Reid; and stepson, Barry Rhoades.
