Santos Ybarra
Memorial services for Santos V. Ybarra, age 81, of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Second Baptist Church of Lamesa. Officiating will be Pastor Tobey Clements and Pastor Gil Ramirez.
Due to the Covid-19 area situations we continue with public safety, and for the safety of the family and our community, face masks and social distancing are required at the church. Memorial service arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Santos passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Lubbock, TX.
He was born on March 8, 1939 in Ingleside, TX. Santos married Aurora Salazar on March 3, 1966 in Lamesa, TX.
Santos was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Inez Ybarra; his brothers, Jesus Ybarra, David Ybarra, Carlos Ybarra, and Lupe Juan Ybarra; his sisters, Juana Jimenez, Tomasa Flores, Isidra Diaz, Inez Gonzales, Isabel Martinez, Guadalupe Moreno, and Carlota Salazar.
Santos was a member at Second Baptist Church. He was a devout Christian man who loved God. He served as Deacon for many years. His hobbies included working on the yard. He would pass his time working on Word searches, reading his Bible, and watching his favorite classic TV show Little House on the Prairie. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He could be found at McDonald’s everyday drinking his Senor Coffee and just enjoying life. He enjoyed talking to people, friends, and always had a smile on his face.
Santos was a very caring person, who would offer his help in any possible way he could. He was a hard working man. He was employed with the City of Lamesa in the Sanitation Department as a truck driver from 1989 until his retirement in June 2001. Santos was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who had a heart of Gold.
Santos is survived by his wife, Aurora Salazar Ybarra, his daughter, Yvonne Ybarra, and his grand-daughter, Sarah Marquez, all of Lamesa, TX.; several relatives and friends.
