Sandy Mayfield

    Sandy Crump Mayfield, of Denton Texas, age 71, passed away Thursday, January 27th, 2022, while at home sleeping peacefully with her family by her side.  
    Sandy was born March 11, 1950, in Lamesa Texas to Verner (VW) and Mildred Smith Crump.   She attended and graduated from Lamesa High School in 1968. On July 6th, 1968, she married her High School Sweetheart Gary Mayfield, and the incredible journey of 53 years began.  After their wedding they moved immediately to West Germany where Gary was in the Army.  Following his tour of duty, they returned to Texas where they would live together for the rest of her life.   Sandy was a life long Dental Office Manager in the towns of Lamesa, Big Spring, Lubbock and The Woodlands, Texas. 
    Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sports enthusiast. She loved to watch and cheer for her boys playing sports and the enthusiasm continued with her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, lake life and traveling.  Sandy was always the life of every room she entered with an infectious laugh and smile that would light up any room. Sandy never met a stranger, just a friend she had not been introduced to.   Sandy was a spiritual woman involved with her local Bible Study Fellowship at the First Baptist Church of Denton.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and anyone that knew her.
    Sandy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Gary Mayfield; her son Brian Mayfield of Flower Mound, TX, his wife Pam and two children Paige and Blake; her son Neal Mayfield of Denton, TX, his wife Holly and son Easton.  Also survived by her sister Pam Lincycomb of Abilene, TX and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  
    She is predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Mildred Crump, her brother Richard Crump and her sister Nita Burney Owings. 
    Sandy may be gone from our earth but will never be forgotten.
    No services are scheduled at this time.   A Celebration of Her Life will be celebrated later for family, friends and acquaintances.
