Royce Dyess

    Masonic graveside service for Royce Dyess, 85, of Lamesa will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at O’Donnell Cemetery with Johnny Davis officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Royce was born on November 4,1938 in Lamesa, TX. to Elbert Joe and Irene (Truitt) Dyess. He married Denise Peterson at the First United Methodist Church on January 30, 1965, they were married 58 wonderful years.
    He was a master plumber and all-around handy man. Royce dedicated 28 years to the Lamesa Fire Department and was a 32nd degree mason member of the O’Donnell and Tahoka Masonic Lodges.
    Royce is survived by his wife, Denise Dyess of Lamesa; children, Dedra White and husband Kenny of Lamesa, TX., and Jonathan Dyess and wife Kelli of Duluth, MN; four grandchildren, Jake White, Kendra White, Henry Royce Dyess, and Kathryn Dyess; and brother, Billy Joe Dyess of Lamesa, TX.
    He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert Joe and Irene Dyess; and his sister, Bonnie McNutt.
    The family suggests memorial be sent to: the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
