Ross Sims

    Ross Sims of Lamesa passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas.
    A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at St. John Baptist Church with Pastor Jermaine Cleveland officiating.
    Services are under the care and direction of Griffin Mortuary of Lubbock, Texas.
    Ross was born April 14, 1945 in Lamesa, Texas to John L. and Queen Ester (Canady) Sims.  He worked as a school bus driver for Lamesa Schools for many years and enjoyed interacting with the students.  After retiring from the schools, he loved visiting family and friends and some travel.  He was a longtime member of St. John Baptist Church.
    Ross is survived by son, Lavoris Price of Levelland, TX; daughter, Sasha Phillip of Lubbock; brother, Bobby Sims of Lamesa; sister, Wanda Sims of Brownfield; uncle, Fred Sims of Santa Barbara, CA; and many relatives and friends.
    Ross is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Sims; and sister, Georgia Hubbard.
    The family would like to thank the Covenant Hospital staff for the care that was provided.
