Roger Lee King
Memorial services for Roger Lee King, 58, of Lamesa, will be held on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at 3 p.m., at Immanuel Baptist Church in Odessa with Pastor Landon Coleman officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
Mr. King passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1960 to Weldon and Charlotte Renay King in Newark, Ohio. He attended schools in Ohio.
He married Mary Beth Hoskinson on Oct. 2, 1977. He later married Peggy Close-King on Jan. 22, 2011.
He worked as a roofer, framed houses, worked in the oil field on rigs, fabricated and installed commercial signs, drove 18 wheelers, poured concrete, and served as a supervisor for finished carpentry at a construction company.
Survivors include his father,Weldon King; daughter, Debra Kay Gerdau-Willet; sons, Brad Allen King and Brent Adam King; second wife, Peggy Close-King; stepchildren, Joshua Swihart, Jerry Swihart, Jacob Close, Jakotah Snyder and Dillon Anderson; four grandchildren; brother David King; and sisters, Lisa Melendez and Susan King.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte King; aunt, Mary Ann Williamson; and first wife, Mary King.
