Richard Bird

    Richard Erle Bird, 78, of Lamesa, went to be with the Lord January 16, 2020.
    Bird was born in Lamesa on October 8, 1941. He enjoyed going to the farm where he was raised and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan and loved spending time with his family and friends. 
    He is survived by his two sons: Richard Allen and his wife Linda of Midland, granddaughter; Sarah and great-grandson, Brayden of Odessa; and Gregory John and his wife Tracey of Big Spring. Bird is also survived by a brother James Bird and wife Judy of Amarillo. 
    He is preceded in death by his parents, C.M. and Tootsie Bird of Lamesa; brothers Carie DeMott and Carroll Bird.
