Rene Guajardo

    Catholic funeral graveside services for Rene Salinas Guajardo, age 62, of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Dawson County Cemetery with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. 
    Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing and visitation will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Rene passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Lamesa TX. 
    He was born on September 16, 1958 in Pearsall, TX.
    He was preceded in death his parents, Roberto R. Guajardo and Alicia S. Guajardo; his sisters, Anabel Camacho, Elma Guajardo, and Belinda Vera.
    Rene worked for Lamesa Tire and Battery, Reid Bethel Tire, Garcia’s Bail Bonds, and Rick’s Paint and Body Shop. He loved to cook and work on automobiles. Rene was an avid fan of Texas Tech sports, and he loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. 
    Rene is survived by his son, Jerry Salazar (Amy) of Lubbock, TX.; his brother, Robert (Bobby) Guajardo (Irma) of Lubbock, TX.; his sisters, Velma Salazar (Paul), and Eva Guajardo (Amos Hernandez), all of Lubbock, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
