R. Darrell Crass
R. Darrell Crass, 90 of Midland, Texas, passed away on October 28th, 2021.
A visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on November 1st, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 3:00 pm, November 2nd, 2021 at Resthaven Cemetery in Midland, Texas.
Darrell was born on December 14th, 1930 in Ackerly, Texas to Eddie & Dora Crass. He graduated from Ackerly High School and then was drafted into the army as a medic during the Korean war. After his tour in Korea, Darrell went on to be a seismograph driller or better known as a “Doodlebugger,” then became specialized in the water well and cathodic protection industry with the company he started in 1972 and ran until his retirement in 2017, Darrell Crass Drilling.
He had two great loves of his life, Jeannean Bradford Crass and Linda Davidson Crass. He had three children, Linda Jeannean Crass, Dara Crass Richardson & Dereck Shane Crass.
Darrell is survived by his brother, his children, stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Darrell is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannean Bradford Crass, and his second wife, Linda Davidson Crass; his sister Beulah Hammond; and his stepdaughter April Davidson.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards, Encompass Home Health, and Texas Tech Geriatric and especially his son, Dereck Crass for taking such excellent care of Darrell for the last several years of his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Texas Ground Water Association.
