    Memorial services for Petra C. Maldonado, age 74, of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Petra passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Lubbock, TX. 
    She was born on October 19, 1946 in McAllen,TX.
    Petra was preceded in death by her father, Alberto Contreras and mother, Jovita Cabriales; her brother, Roman Contreras; her sister, Juana Holman.
    Petra was a CNA. She loved going to church most of all. Petra was a full time grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed taking care of her family day-in-and-day-out.
    Petra is survived by her daughters, Virginia Maldonado of Lamesa, TX., and Diana Francisco of Lubbock, TX.; her grandsons, Oscar Montoya (Tay Calicuitt), Michael Flores; her granddaughters, Jessica D. Salazar (Jonathan), and Zoe Marmolejo; her great-grandchildren, Khaleb Callicuitt, Khalil Callicuitt, and Zeus Salazar, all of Lamesa, TX.; her brother, Liandro Contreras, and Bonifacio Contreras;  numerous relatives and friends.
