Pete passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on July 18, 1953, in Lamesa, TX.

With a heavy heart, we say “See you later” to a remarkable man, a true man of God, and a loving father who touched the lives of so many. He was not just a doting father and grandfather, but also an extraordinary musician, an amazing, mastered tenor saxophone player (played his grandfather Pedro Elgueseda vintage tenor saxophone), and a great singer. His talent and passion for music brought joy to everyone around
him. His circle of friends spanned across the United States, a testament to his impact on others. Aside from his musical abilities, he was a roughneck, an ordained minister, a truck driver, and a successful business owner. His love for his roses, his extraordinary ability to BBQ the best brisket and steaks you could ever have, and his fondness for watching “The Voice”. His favorite foods were coconut shrimp from Red Lobster, deviled eggs, and beef taquitos. But above all, he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. They were things that brought him so much joy. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Pete is survived by his loving family, his daughter, Stephanie Flores, Cody Brunson and their children, Logan and Gage of Lubbock, TX., Stacy, Joe and Arielle Adams of Lubbock, TX., and Lindsay and Chris Rackley and their children Nathan, Nicholas, Demri, and Mylo of Friona, TX.; his sister, Darlene Vasquez of Lamesa, TX., and his dear friend, Janie Flores; 7 grandchildren as mentioned, 4 nephews, and 4 nieces; numerous relatives and friends.
