Natalie DeAnn King Smith

Natalie DeAnn King Smith, age 45, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024, at her home in Lamesa, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. Natalie was born on August 31, 1979, in Midland, Texas, to mother, Betta Antee (Jerry) of Midland, and father, Dean King (Deanna) of Lamesa. Natalie moved to Lamesa in 1989 where she graduated from Lamesa High School in 1998. Natalie loved to sing, and won an award for solo and ensemble, as well as auditioning for Texas Baptist All State Choir.
Her passion was photography and watching Pioneer Woman.
Natalie met the love of her life, Robby Smith, and they married December 14, 2019. They had no children born to them but Natalie immediately fell in love with Robby’s sons, Colby of Waco, and Ryan (Kristina) of Midland.
Natalie’s heart was for her siblings: half-sister, Jamie King-Cook (Nicholas) of La Porte, Tx; half-brother, Jeff King (Michelle) of Carlisle, PA; step-sisters, Tamera Stewart (Mark) of Lubbock; Rachel Bertelson (Craig) of Wichita Falls; Amanda Mlenak (Jason) of Big Spring; Christy Medina (Felix) of Lamesa; as well as all her uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Our heart-felt gratitude goes out to Dr. David Close and his staff at Medical Oncology, and all the staff at Joe Arrington Cancer Clinic, Lubbock, TX, as well as Rachel Gonzales of Home Hospice, Big Spring, TX, and Gricelda Camacho (Chris) and her amazing team (Hilda, Natalie, Laura, Jennifer) who worked lovingly and tirelessly to keep Natalie comfortable during these last days. The family will be forever grateful to all of you.
Memorial service will be held in Lamesa at Second Baptist Church, with Reverends Curtis Lloyd and Tim King officiating, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
