Mitzi Price

Mitzi May Price passed from this life peacefully on November 12, 2021 while surrounded by her family.
Mitzi was born to Jewel William & Ruth Jane May on August 20, 1938, in Childress, Texas.   She attended school in Levelland, Texas, and that is where she met Jerry Price, the love of her life.  They married on January 8, 1955.  They were blessed with three sons: Steven Wayne, Guy Hunter, and Mark Thomas.
Mitzi and Jerry opened and operated Plains Sporting Goods and Ski Shop in Lamesa, Texas, from 1971 to 2000.   They both loved supporting, not only their own sons in their endeavors, but also supporting the community of Lamesa.
Mitzi enjoyed sharing her love of many activities with her special people.  She and Jerry enjoyed golfing and travelling together with friends.  She also made the best chocolate cakes; she was the best spectator for her grands and great grands (as she affectionately called them).  Nanny and Poppa loved to watch the grands participate in their sporting events and did so until Jerry passed.  When Poppa passed, Nanny continued to watch and support her grands.
Mitzi (Nanny) moved to San Angelo in 2018 after the passing of her mother and made an immediate impact on a new community. She gained many new friends in the golfing community and even picked up a new hobby- mah johngg.   She also enjoyed many cards games and dinners with her new friends at Village East.
In addition, Mitzi was able to become a fixture with her great-granddaughter’s tennis team and became Nanny to her tennis kids.  Nanny also traveled to watch her other great-grands play volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball… Nanny loved watching her great grands do anything.
Many will miss Mitzi; however, her reunion in heaven will include her parents, Jewel William & Ruth May, her husband, Jerry, her sister, Jody and her brother, Bob.
Mitzi is survived by her children: Steve & Penny Price (San Angelo), Guy & Gay Price (Granbury), Mark & Bev Price (New Braunfels); grandchildren Crystal & Ryan King (San Angelo), Kacey & David Huggins (Granbury), Kari & Brandon Brantley (Glen Rose), Josh & Jessica Price (New Braunfels), Bryan & Jenn Price (Houston); great grandchildren Kenzie King, Kyleigh & Kendall Huggins, Emery & Cason Brantley, Jaxon, Jenna, and Jordan Price, and Broxton and Charli Price.  She is also survived by her siblings, Jerry May (Glenda), Sandra Davidson, Diane Hogg, and Butch May (Teri), as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Harper Funeral Home. The graveside service will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Lamesa Memorial Park in Lamesa, TX.
    Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family would like to thank Anna Martinez and Hospice of San Angelo for their compassionate care.
