Merlene Brown

    Funeral service for Merlene Brown, 94, will be held Tuesday September 17, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Lamesa Church of Christ with Dwaine Brown officiating.
    Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
    Merlene passed away on Saturday, September14, 2019 in New Braunfels surrounded by her loving family. 
    She was born September 3, 1925 in Lamesa, Texas to W.P. Sr. and Mattie (Rendleman) Dickenson. She married Joe Brown February 5, 1945 in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 43 years. 
    She loved reading and spending time with her grandsons. She taught children’s bible class and was a member of Lamesa Church of Christ for many years. 
    Merlene is survived by son, Steve Brown and wife, JoAnn of New Braunfels; grandsons, Brady Brown and wife, Meghan of Sugar Land and Bryan Brown of Dallas; and three great grandchildren. 
    She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Glenn Dickenson, Wayne Dickenson, W.P. Dickenson, Jr., Midge Baldwin and Madelle Dickenson.
    The family suggests memorials to Lamesa Church of Christ 701 N. 14th, Lamesa, TX 79331 or a charity of your choice.
