    A Catholic Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary Zimmerman age 57 of Lamesa, TX., at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Chacko Thadathil officiating. The burial will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her home in Lamesa, TX.
    The visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, and Friday, June 7, 2024, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary prayer service at 7 p.m.
    Mary was born on June 22, 1966, in Lamesa, TX. She married Rick Zimmerman on December 1, 2001, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa, TX.
    Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Guzman, and Joyce Guzman.
    Mary was a devoted wife and mother. Mary shared 23 years of love with her husband Rick Zimmerman. Together they raised their wonderful daughter, Paisley. Mary’s passion was teaching her loving students sharing her love of education. Mary graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in education from the University.
    Mary was more than a teacher; she was a mentor and best friend to all her compassion touched the hearts of everyone. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember Mary with love. May her spirit continue to guide us, and may her memory be a blessing.
    Mary is survived by her husband, Rick Zimerman, and her daughter, Paisley Zimerman, both of Lamesa, TX.; sisters, Sandra Guzman of Midland, TX., Anna Guzman of Lubbock, TX., and Tobie Flores of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Johnny Guzman of New Mexico; numerous relatives and friends.
