Martha Baltazar Gonzales, a beacon of joy and compassion, passed away on the serene Christmas Day of December 25, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on September 8, 1962 to Antonio and Petra Luera Baltazar, in Lamesa, Martha lived a life characterized by love, laughter, and the selfless care of others. Funeral mass for Martha will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Sylvester Dsouza officiating.
Viewing will be held Sunday December 29, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, December 30, 2024 from 9 a.m.to 9p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 and Monday , December 30, 2024 at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa, Texas. Martha’s journey began as a cherished daughter in Lamesa, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of a close-knit community. Her path led her to the love of her life, Alfredo Gonzales Jr., whom she married on February 22, 1979, in a ceremony filled with hope and happiness. Together, they built a life defined by devotion and mutual respect.
A loving mother and a friend to many, Martha’s family was the cornerstone of her existence. She is survived by her husband Alfredo, her sons Eric Gonzales and his wife Nancy of Lamesa, and Antonio Gonzales and his wife Patricia of Midland. Her daughters Ana Gonzales and her fiancé Carlos Loya of Lamesa, and Sara Gonzales of Lamesa, also carry forward her legacy of kindness. Martha’s precious grandchildren who are also survivors are Aystyn, Eli, Nolan, Christian, Gabby, Matthew, Nathan, Jordan, Donovan, Kaitlyn, Aden and Dani. Her loving mother, Petra Baltazar of Lamesa. Her brother, Mario Baltazar and sisters, Irene, Angie, Alice, Stella and Rachel. Martha’s role as a matriarch extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Martha is preceded in death by her father, Antonio Baltazar, and brothers, Antonio, Albert and Juan.
Martha’s professional life was a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she dedicated herself to the role of a caregiver. Her passion for helping others was evident in the special bonds she formed with the families she served. She was not merely an aide but a cherished presence in the homes of those she cared for.
Beyond her work, Martha’s interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She was the life of the party, ensuring that joy and laughter followed wherever she went. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she took great pleasure in sharing her delicious creations with friends and family.
