    Funeral services for Maria Belia Garza age 79 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.         
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Viewing and visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, and Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Maria Belia passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at her home in Lamesa surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 31, 1944, in Sugarland, Texas. Maria Belia married Meliton Garza on October 19, 1966, in Lamesa, TX.
    Maria Belia is preceded in death by her husband, Meliton Garza, Sr.; her mother and father, Paula Lujan and Vicente Rodriguez; her sister, Annie Rodriguez.
    Maria Belia is survived by her family, her daughters, Rita Garza of Lewisville, TX., Nelda Garza of Lamesa, and Elsa Garza, both of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Manuel Garza, and Norman Garza, both of Lamesa, TX,. and Meliton Garza, Jr. of Big Spring, TX.; her sisters, Enedina Grimaldo of Denton, TX., Juana Ortiz of Lewisville, TX., Evangelina Jimenez and husband, Ramon Jimenez of Irving, TX., Rosalina Castellano, and Maria Perez, both of Lewisville, TX., her brothers, Jesus Rodriguez and wife, Rose Mary Rodriguez of Midland, TX., Freddy Rodriguez and wife, Diana Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX., and Raul Lujan of Big Spring, TX.; 15 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
