Lydia Lopez

    A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Lydia Lopez age 78 of Lamesa at 3:00 p.m.  Friday August 14, 2020 with limited gathering at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil and Father Raj, officiating. Please, you must wear a face mask during the church service. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Due to area Covid-19 situations we continue with public safety.
    Visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday August 13, 2020 at Gonzales Funeral Home until 6:00 p.m., followed with a Rosary prayer service at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church starting at 7:00 p.m. 
    Lydia passed away on Tuesday August 11, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. 
    She was born on October 6, 1941 in Runge, TX. Lydia married Santos V. Lopez on August 17, 1984 in Lamesa, TX.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Silverio and Lucinda Perez.
    Lydia enjoyed going to church and going to BINGO. Christmas family gatherings were always at her home. She enjoyed cooking for her kids. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers baseball. 
    Lydia is survived by her husband, Santos V. Lopez of Lamesa; her sons, Juan Medina and wife, Marivel Medina of Kerrville, TX., and Silberio Medina and wife, Anita F. Medina of Snyder, TX.; her daughters, JoAnn Posada and husband, Robert Posada of Kerrville, TX., and Irma Paredes and husband, Abel Paredes of Kerrville, TX.; sisters, Minnie Gonzales, and Elva Arismendez, both of Lamesa; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
