Lela Contreras
Lela Contreras gained her angel wings on August 12, 2023 in Lubbock, TX as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Lela was born on March 26, 1933 in Gonzales, TX. Those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that Lela was able to have.
She lived for our Father God and surrendered her life and accepted Christ Jesus as her personal savior. She loved to worship and gave thanks to God every day. Lela married Jose Ramon Contreras February 10, 1964 in Lamesa, TX. She was talented and adventurous in many aspects of her life. She had an amazing sense of humor.
Lela was known for her collection of baseball caps, Elvis and Mickey Mouse artifacts. When Lela wasn’t working, she could be found cooking for her family, listening to the country music on her radio or taking a morning walk.
Not a day went by where Lela didn’t talk about how much her children and family meant to her.
Her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.
