Larry Gene (Lar) Doyle
It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Larry Gene (Lar) Doyle from this earth into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 9, 2022.
Lar was born on November 15, 1941, in Lamesa, TX to Eva Light Doyle and Garland Doyle. He grew up in and graduated from Borden County High School. He graduated from Sul Ross and spent his life as a teacher and missionary. He was well known at church and the community for his sense of humor and support for orphanages and global church missions. He loved watching and attending all school sports for friends, grandkids, nieces and nephews at Borden County, Boles Children’s Home and Frisco, TX.
Lar was a loyal friend, son, brother and uncle, and the outpouring of support during his recent illness was a testament to how much he was loved. He was so appreciative for the letters and prayers and was considered a favorite at Victoria Gardens for his gracious attitude despite his circumstances.
Lar is preceded in death by his father, Garland Doyle, his brother Lonnie Doyle, his brother-in-law Glen Kingston, and his daughter Leigh. His survived by his mom, Eva Doyle, his sister Judy Doyle Kingston, daughters Lyndy and Lorri, son Leddy, and numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Lar’s final gift was to donate his body to UT Southwestern and all of his earthly possessions to his favorite charities.
A memorial service will be held in Dallas, Texas and a graveside service in Borden County.
