Kent Sevedge
On March 24th, 2021, God welcomed into heaven, Kent Sevedge, at the age of 91. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, and uncle.
His life began in Kansas City, Kansas on February 9th, 1930. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1949, then quickly married the love of his life, Marjorie Williams. in 1951.
He was drafted into the U S Army in 1951 and served in the South Pacific and participated in the Operation Ivy atomic testing program. He was honorably discharged in 1953, then started his career in construction. He rose to become a senior superintendent with J E Dunn Construction Company and retired in 1992.
He and his wife lived most of their years in Merriam, Kansas, then moved to Lamesa, Texas in 2009 where their son resides. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lamesa, Texas.
He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Marge; son, David and his wife Maureen of Lamesa, Tx; his daughter, Judy Berry and her husband Doug of Tonganoxie, Ks; 4 grandchildren, Ciera and Kyle Berry of Ks; Brent Sevedge, Nathan Sevedge and his wife Jessica of Tx; and his 2 great-grandchildren, Elena and Ava. He also leaves behind his brother William Sevedge of Missouri, as well as a niece and several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life is being planned and the date is to be determined.
