Karen “Haggie” Carlton
Karen “Haggie” Carlton, 79, of Denton passed away Friday, June 4, 2021, at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
She was born “Betty Karen Blair” to Welton and Nadeen Furlow Blair on July 30, 1941, in Lamesa, Texas.
Karen married Rogers Carlton in Denton on June 15, 1960. They were members of the Singing Oaks Church of Christ.
She graduated from Lamesa High School and Texas Woman’s University. She was a teacher at Sam Houston Elementary in the Denton I.S.D. prior to retirement. She was known for dancing on tables in her classroom. Also, loved her sister weekends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Karen is survived by her husband Rogers Carlton of Denton; daughter, Tracy and husband Tim Kutas of Krum; son, Craig and wife Melody Carlton of Denton; sister, Shirley Archer of Lamesa; 4 grandchildren, Makenzie and husband Trent Erwin of Austin, Chelsea Kutas of Krum, Maddison and Jonathan Castilaw of Denton, Carlton and wife Chloe Kutas of Denton; Great Grans, Rylan Castilaw, Rosemary Kutas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
